Two Flags. One Plate.
Served With Love.

Quarantings Cuisine is a small, Black woman-owned kitchen serving bold Jamaican-American fusion — real technique, real heat, zero shortcuts.

Flavor is never optional.

The Story

Born In Quarantine.
Built On Love.

Shaunie didn't set out to start a full-time catering business. In 2020, with the whole world on pause, she had the time to explore new skills and started cooking. She was heavy-handed with the jerk, there were no measuring cups, and definitely no apologies. Just good food, and a whole lot of faith in God.

What started as making plates to sell during the pandemic slowly became something bigger. People kept coming back. They kept telling somebody else. And little by little, the name Quarantings Cuisine stuck — but more importantly, the support grew. What started in a moment of uncertainty became a space for Shaunie to share her culture, her creativity, and the food she had always been proud to make.

Quarantings Cuisine is what happens when a first-generation Jamaican American stops holding back.

This is a small, Black woman-owned kitchen that doesn't do polite portions or watered-down flavors. Jerk goes on things jerk was never meant to go on. Oxtail and lobster show up where you'd least expect them. It's Jamaican technique with zero interest in playing it safe — bold, creative, and cooked with love.

And that love means something.

It's a nod to Shaunie's mother, Maxine, a Jamaican woman who worked hard to make a life in America and poured everything she had into giving her daughter a life of her own. Quarantings is part of that legacy — carrying forward where she came from while creating something completely her own.

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

— 1 Corinthians 16:14

That's more than a scripture to Shaunie. It's the spirit behind the food, the business, and the reason she keeps showing up. Every plate is a little bit of faith, a little bit of Jamaica, a whole lot of flavor, and a lot of love.
